With Renewed Energy

I am always encouraging my clients to evaluate where they are putting their energy, but in practice, this can be incredibly difficult. Sometimes I need to take my own advice. I have been distracted lately, and my online presence, as well as my personal craft have been suffering for it. The world felt as though it was closing in around me a bit during June, and I needed to take a step back and hold onto my energy for moment.

After a much needed vacation, and some serious self-reflection, I realized I was trying to force things to happen. I was trying to be what people wanted, instead of being myself. For my fellow “influencers” you will probably understand what I mean, but I felt like I was selling myself as a commodity. The more I put myself out there, the more I became the product, instead of my readings, or my knowledge. That feeling, coupled with some real world struggles and changes left me running on empty, yet still I pushed myself to produce.

I was chasing a feeling of softness in my daily practice that I couldn’t force. It wasn’t until I was able to slow down that I realized just how tired I was. Recharging and reclaiming my energy has become a huge focus in my craft. Often life is what informs our research and spellwork, and that has certainly been the case for me.

Now that I am back to content creation, and accepting orders and appointments again, I can see how big of a difference it makes to have a work/life balance. I’m making it a point to incorporate real-world activity into my work days, so I don’t just exist in an online space. For those of you who relate to this, I would encourage you to take a moment and look at where you are putting your own energy, and what you’re doing to recharge your batteries. For me that means finding activities to replenish my energy and saving some of my moments for just me, not an audience.
